Web Design
I have experience using HTML, CSS and JavaScript to create and maintain websites. I have also used Content Management Systems such as WordPress and Joomla. My foundations in the subject come from the days when tables and image maps were the way to organize content. I then transitioned into the age of divs for everything and am now proficient in the ways of HTML5 through coursework at Red River College.
Programming
Through course work at Red River College I have experience designing console applications in Java as well as windows form projects in C# and Visual Studio. The programs have covered inventory, grading calculations, simple bank account creation, validation and error handling as well as synchronizing with databases.
Networking
This year I delved into the world of Cisco networking. I have acquired knowledge in how data is transferred, encapsulated, addressed and decoded. I am able to configure both routers and switches as well as troubleshoot basic network problems.
SQL Databases
I was introduced to Oracle this term. It provided me with an opportunity to create, alter, update and query tables in a database. Course work enabled me to gain a thorough understanding of Select statements using joins and subqueries as well as the steps necessary to determine how tables and views were created and then recreate them.
